“How do I target a new LinkedIn niche, Christine?
This was the question a private marketing coaching client who’s one of my biggest success stories asked me recently.
He’s already had amazing results after working with me to engage his original niche on LinkedIn and is now looking to expand his business by helping a new LinkedIn niche.
Here are the 3 most effective ways to target and engage with a new LinkedIn niche (besides updating your LinkedIn Profile, obviously), plus a bonus tip for sharing your message where large numbers of your new niche members are:
1. LinkedIn Updates
To engage with a new niche, you need to start talking with them. Listen to their conversations on- and off-line to hear what’s important to them, what their biggest challenges and opportunities are…and address those subjects in your updates.

2. LinkedIn Groups
The second way to engage with a new niche on LinkedIn is to join groups where they are and start regularly sharing compelling content that positions you as an expert in getting results for others in their niche.
This can be done in 5 minutes a week when you use the right tools in the right way.
3. LinkedIn Publishing
The third way to engage with a new niche on LinkedIn is to publish LinkedIn posts.
But not just any posts…
For maximum effectiveness, similar to LinkedIn Groups, share compelling content that attracts your new Ideal Client to you.
BONUS TIP: Speak
Speaking is one of the most effective ways to share your message with a new niche and an excellent complement to your LinkedIn marketing efforts.
To find where large numbers of your new niche are, use Google search to find conference sites and contact the organizers to speak.
Speaking to large groups in your new niche is like nothing else for positioning you as an expert and thought leader and can grow your new niche business exponentially.
