Personalize your LinkedIn Invitations and watch your connections and engagement skyrocket.
Really.
It’s that powerful.
And it’s easy to personalize LinkedIn Invitations if you use this simple trick:
Send your invitation from the member’s profile.
BONUS TIP: Use the Rapportive Chrome extension to personalize LinkedIn Invitations easily from inside GMail.
The people you want to connect with most likely get quite a few connection requests, so keep your invitation relevant and compelling.
This means make it all about them.
For example: how do you know them, where did you meet, where will you see them, who introduced you…?
And be sure to use their name in your invitation!
Because we’re all busy and this makes it easy for them to say “Yes!” to your invitation.
BONUS TIP: Cultivate the relationship after they accept your invitation by introducing yourself and asking how you can help them. This will make you stand out because very few people do it.

I have always sent a personalized response when I make a connection on LinkedIn.
I very much value my connections and I want them to know that when we connect.
It’s just something that I do – I don’t even think about it anymore.
Cheers!

Thanks for your comment, Ivor!
I’m curious…what kind of results do you see from your messages?
Best,
Christine

I always send personalized messages when I make a connection. You should be careful on the ‘People You May Know’ page. If you click on ‘Connect’ there, you wouldn’t get a chance to write a personalized message.
With me, it usually ends up in a brief chat.

Thanks for your comment, Stalline, and sharing your experience…and I agree on the “People You May Know” feature. That feature can also be a fast way to get your account restricted if you aren’t careful!
I’m curious…who are your Ideal Clients?
Best,
Christine
