It’s now available globally!
LinkedIn Mobile App Updates
The LinkedIn mobile app has been rebuilt from the ground up and streamlined into five core areas — Your Feed, Me, My Network, Messaging and Search.
Here’s the overview:
1. Your Feed (Home) is content from your network to help with your business day.
It’s based on what LinkedIn determines is most relevant for your industry, function and skills…combined with the conversations and content you care about.
When you first use it, as part of a lightweight onboarding process, LinkedIn is going to ask you what content you are interested in, and over time you can also unfollow things that are less valuable to you.
Note: When I tried the new LinkedIn mobile app this morning, I wasn’t asked, so this feature might still being rolled out.
2. Me represents your professional brand.
This is where you can see all things about you — who’s viewed your profile, who is commenting on, or sharing your posts.
It also offers the most intuitive way of updating your profile that LinkedIn has ever had, which means you can easily spruce it up to keep your professional presentation current.
3. My Network is a daily briefing of what’s happening in your professional network, which means you can see in seconds people you may know, new posts from your network and suggestions to keep connected.
For example, it will offer prompts to say congrats to a connection celebrating a new role or work anniversary, or send a message to someone in your network when they have written a post on LinkedIn.
BONUS TIP: You can sync your calendar to prepare more effectively for your next meeting. How this works is that you’ll be prompted to look at the profile of the person you are meeting and get details on your shared connections or interests. What this means for you is that you can avoid the small talk and get right into meaningful conversation.
3. Messaging abandons email in favor of a more casual way to stay in touch, which means you can initiate quicker conversations in a lighter-weight interface.
This makes it easy for you to ping someone in your network on a quick question or continue a conversation as you would in real-life.
4. Search is now 300% faster, and a lot smarter, which means you can quickly find people, articles and groups you’re looking for.
For example, search for articles with the title “leads” and get results before you even finish typing.
