One of the advantages of belonging to a LinkedIn Group used to be LinkedIn Group messaging.
However, there are now limits to LinkedIn Group messaging…here are the details:
1. You can send 15 free messages from within LinkedIn Groups to fellow group members each month.
NOTE: This limit includes messages sent directly from a group to your 1st degree LinkedIn connections.
BONUS TIP: Message your connections from your LinkedIn Inbox or their LinkedIn Profile so you can use your limited messages for LinkedIn members with whom you’re not yet connected.
* If you go over the limit, you’ll see an error message until the next month begins.
* Unsent messages don’t carry over to the next month.
* Only the original LinkedIn Group message is counted toward the limit. Any back-and-forth replies from either party won’t count toward the 15 message allotment.
* To send more messages you need to upgrade to Premium.
2. You have to be a member of the LinkedIn Group for at least 4 days.
3. You have to be a member of LinkedIn for at least 30 days in order to send messages to fellow LinkedIn Group members.
If you’re interested in getting more details on how to quickly and easily get better results from LinkedIn with the LinkedIn Group Messaging limits, click here to qualify for your complimentary LinkedIn Results strategy session with me to explore that…and to find out what you can do to have a results breakthrough. I have a limited number of appointments available and request that only people who are serious about dramatically increasing their results on LinkedIn and ready to take the next step apply for a time to talk.

Cindy says
Thank you for this information about LinkedIn groups. I ran into a problem a couple of months ago when trying to connect with other group members.
Just for clarification. Is it 15 messages per group you are a member of, or is it 15 messages for all of the groups you are a part of?
Cindy
Christine Hueber says
Thanks for your comment, Cindy.
Group members can choose not to accept messages from other group members…that might have been what you experienced.
To clarify, it’s 15 messages for all your groups.
Best,
Christine

Hi Christine!
Is there a limit if you have a premium account?
Thanks,
Rusty
Christine Hueber says

You can use InMail messaging with a Premium account.

Decklin Dawson says
I want to send a group message but I do not want to recipients to be able to see that others have received the message or be able to see the reply of someone else… how do I do this or is there no other way than to send them individually?
Christine Hueber says
Thanks for your comment, Decklin.
With the new LinkedIn messaging, that no longer seems possible.
Do you find that group messages work well for you?
Best,
Christine
Patricia Edwards says
Thanks, Christine. Is there still the option to direct email150 connections at a time (irregardless of group membership)?
Christine Hueber says
My pleasure, Patricia, and thanks for your comment.
You can still message multiple contacts, yes…but it can very easily flag you as a spammer and get your account restricted.
I hope that helps!
Best,
Christine
