Ever get the following LinkedIn error message when you try to accept an invitation?
This message was sent to an email address that is not associated with your LinkedIn account. You may have another LinkedIn account with this email address.
If you do…here’s help!
What does this mean?
It means you need to add the email to your LinkedIn account and I’ll detail for you below exactly what you can do to easily and quickly resolve the situation.
Why am I receiving this message?
You’re receiving this message because someone wants to connect with you via the email address they have for you … perhaps a previous company, a personal email, etc.
Action: Here’s how to resolve this LinkedIn error message: In LinkedIn, click Settings in the menu under your name and add and confirm your additional email address…this will keep you from receiving this LinkedIn error message going forward.
Information: LinkedIn invitations are email address driven, like on FaceBook, and you can associate all your emails with your one account.
For example, I have my ChristineHueber.com domain, yahoo, hotmail, and gmail email addresses all registered with my LinkedIn account that I opened in 2006 . This makes it easy for anyone I’ve know since 1997 to connect and network with me on LinkedIn, where I’m the LinkedIn #1 All Time Top Female Expert and have a Top 1% Most Viewed LinkedIn Profile.
What If: if you don’t add it, you’ll continue to receive these messages, or could create duplicate accounts since LinkedIn is like FaceBook and email address driven.
Result: You can more easily grow your network and business using LinkedIn, when you add all your emails that any of your contacts might have.
So now I’ve told you what you can do to keep from receiving the above LinkedIn error message when you try to accept an invitation.

Dear Christine,
CONGRATULATIONS on such a brilliant and informative website! I am so glad that I registered my name as I am relatively new using Social Media and Linkedin in particular.
So your website is a brilliant source of information for me!
One question:
I understand that to be fully visible on LinkedIn you need a 100% completed profile. It was my understanding (wrong one it seems) that in order to have a 100% profile you either needed at least 3 recommendations or have a photo downloaded.
I only have one recommendation so far but I have asked several more from previous colleagues and employers, and hopefully they will respond positively.
I have also downloaded a picture of a famous London landmark as I have not yet a professional picture of me. I have noticed that some people have downloaded picture showing for example the logo of the company they work for, or other pictures, so I am assuming this is ok.
However, I have noticed that before doing this my profile was 85% complete, whereas now it is only 80%!
Can you give me some tips as to how I can have a complete profile?
Maybe I misunderstood, and I need both 3 recommendations AND a picture?
Thank you
Laurence

Thanks for your comment, Laurence.
For tips on how to complete your LinkedIn profile, please read my special report. You can download it here: http://christinehueber.visibli.com/share/QFe3RP … and please let me know how you like it.
I highly suggest using a headshot for your LinkedIn profile picture. It gives a more professional and effective presentation. LinkedIn is very different from FaceBook and Twitter in that way.
To your LinkedIn success!

Christine,
I have a LinkedIn question nobody seems to have the answer to, and it’s a serious issue in terms of preventing me extending my network. On almost every occasion when I try to accept an invitation I receive the following error message: ‘Sorry, this invitation cannot be accepted. It may be temporarily unavailable, or may have been withdrawn’ .
If you have an answer for this one, I’d be very grateful!
Chris

Hi Chris, interesting. Have you tried using different browsers? Otherwise, have you contacted the Help Center? Good luck! Christine
