The easiest way to add outside recommendations to your LinkedIn profile is to add them as media to your Summary, Experience, Projects, etc.
BONUS TIP #1: If you want to really emphasize the recommendation, I suggest mentioning it in your Summary.
BONUS TIP #2: You can also add it as an “other” website, customizing the name for your keywords/message, with a Google Docs, etc., link.
