Do you want more leads from your LinkedIn company page?
According to Experian Marketing Services, LinkedIn received 94 million total U.S. visits in December 2012, an increase of 40% in traffic compared to December 2011.
So, whether you’re a B2B and/or B2C company, now is a great time take advantage of that traffic and start leveraging your LinkedIn company page so it generates more leads for you.
Here are 6 ways to attract high-quality leads with your LinkedIn company page.
1. Add a Strong Call to Action with a Link
Did you know you can add Showcase pages to your company page? And that each of these pages can link back to your site?
This is a terrific way to drive LinkedIn traffic to a webinar, compelling gift or other type of targeted landing page and provides a simple way for leads to contact you by linking to your site or targeted landing page with your Showcase page.
2. Add Pictures or Files
Attach files or pictures (along with links) to your company page status updates. This helps your status updates “pop” out of the stream, which increases visibility and click-throughs with each post.
Think about all of the different ways you can leverage these expanded status updates that include an image and two links. You can:
- Feature an image of a webinar.
- Show the cover of a compelling gift.
- Preview an image of a YouTube video.
BONUS TIP: Share a variety of different types of content. This means vary between content that includes links, polls, slides, videos, questions, etc. and see what inspires the most engagement.
For example, I post images whenever possible…whether they’re from my blog post, an interesting article, or to go along with a simple what I’m doing update. I find an image always increases engagement!
3. Customize Your Calls to Action and Content
Did you know LinkedIn Showcase pages can serve up different content based on the profile of the user?
Not only does this allow you to use the right language (based on geography), but also feature only the products and services that might interest certain types of people (based on their job function, company size, industry and seniority). It then allows you to provide the right messaging and links.
Creating custom content for specific LinkedIn members allows you drive them to the most effective landing pages on your site…and it only takes minutes to do.
4. Analyze Your Posts
Post updates during the times of day you get the most impressions on LinkedIn.
The way you’ll find the best times to post is by watching the post impression numbers in your posts.
If you look at your LinkedIn post engagement numbers (impressions, clicks and shares), you’ll see what exactly what types of posts are driving the most relevant traffic and/or leads to your site…so you can post more of it (and potentially transfer your success to other social media sites where you’re posting as well!).
Also pay attention to what type of content gets the most shares. Why? Because the number of shares means even more visibility for your business in other people’s LinkedIn streams!
5. Your LinkedIn Showcase Pages are Your LinkedIn Landing Pages Too
Of course you can link to your landing page, but why not also allow LinkedIn members a quick way to ask a question or message you without leaving LinkedIn? This is a great way to make it easy for customers to contact you for a product or service they are interested in.
You can allow messaging directly from each of your LinkedIn Showcase pages and make it easy for prospects to learn more about your services. All you have to do is link to your website and allowing people to message you directly from LinkedIn. This is a smart way to pull in prospects and lead information (without people needing to visit your website and complete a form).
Besides, getting a message through LinkedIn gives you the opportunity to connect with your prospects, which also gives you access to their email addresses. And when they’re connected with you, they’ll start seeing updates from you as well, which will help nurture the relationship and increase the likelihood of them becoming clients.
6. Promote a LinkedIn Group Your Target Market Would Be Interested in Joining (or Create Your Own!)
If you want to grow your LinkedIn network and leads, you need to provide your insights and thought leadership in relevant groups where your target market is active. But this doesn’t mean bombarding groups with redundant content and constant links back to your website. That just makes you look like a spammer and gets you ignored or deleted and blocked from the group.
Instead, use these groups as opportunities to learn more about your target market and share insights. Strive to become a valuable resource and contributor to the community–and viewed as an expert in your field.
You can also showcase favorite groups on your company page, and it’s a great opportunity to guide your target market into a community you’ll be participating in or, ideally, your own group.
For best results in groups, be useful and provide insights that will help others. This is how you build relationships and earn new business and referrals.
